Seoul, June 18, 2026 - Samsung Electronics announced today the official launch of the "Samsung AI Modular Home" in partnership with Space Manufacturing Studio, a company specializing in timber-based modular housing. This move marks the global tech giant's entry into the market for detached modular homes.

A "Samsung AI Modular Home" showroom has been opened in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. Spanning two areas-330 square meters and 66 square meters-the showroom combines Space Manufacturing Studio's timber modular homes with Samsung Electronics' AI appliances and SmartThings-based AI home solutions to create a realistic living environment. Space Manufacturing Studio utilizes AI-driven design and automated production systems to prefabricate over 80% of the home in a factory setting before transporting the components to the site for assembly and installation.

Customers can choose from various home sizes-such as 33, 99, or 132 square meters-based on their lifestyle or the size of their land. Samsung AI Modular Homes come with Samsung appliances and solutions pre-installed and registered during the factory production phase. Consumers can select from a range of AI appliances-including air conditioners, heat pump boilers, refrigerators, and TVs-as well as over 20 SmartThings-compatible devices such as smart lighting, home security cameras, and smart doorbells. This eliminates the need for complex post-move-in processes like purchasing appliances or setting up home IoT networks, allowing residents to use AI home features immediately.

Samsung Electronics stated that, building on the current collaboration for detached homes, it plans to expand the AI modular home model to mid-rise buildings of four stories or more. The company aims to further advance optimized AI home solutions that are not constrained by housing type or architectural form.
