A batch of fully functional coffee shop units converted from shipping containers has recently been shipped from China to the port of Le Havre, France. Unlike simple refurbishments of old containers, these units are deeply customized for the European mobile catering market. Inside each 20-foot container, they integrate cabinets, cooking ranges, commercial deep fryers, and powerful range hoods, with interior walls fully clad in stainless steel. According to the manufacturer, the order of 12 units will be used for weekend markets and seasonal tourist spots in Normandy, France. Since the beginning of this year, exports of mobile catering containers to Europe and North America have grown by over 40% year‑on‑year, with high‑value‑added, "plug‑and‑play" commercial modules that meet local hygiene regulations becoming a new growth driver for China's foreign trade.
