Welding Deformation: Stress release after cutting the roof panel and uneven heat distribution during the welding of reinforcing ribs can cause frame distortion. Countermeasure: Employ symmetrical, segmented welding; re-check squareness after each segment cools naturally, and immediately correct any deviations using bracing struts.
Cut-Edge Corrosion Protection: Exposed steel at cut edges and weld seams will inevitably rust if treated only with standard paint. Countermeasure: Apply enhanced, specialized coating to all exposed steel areas-using a zinc-rich primer followed by a topcoat-ensuring the dry film thickness exceeds that of the panel's standard finish.
Structural Reinforcement: Supporting the weight of 25 tons of water requires quantitative calculation rather than reliance on guesswork. Countermeasure: Determine support specifications based on opening dimensions and water depth; verify the design by measuring sidewall deformation during a full-water test.
Insulation Spraying: Rigid polyurethane foam is prone to uneven thickness and poor adhesion to steel; an uneven surface can cause blistering in the subsequent waterproof liner. Countermeasure: Control spraying pressure and temperature; apply in layers, checking flatness with a straightedge at each stage; conduct adhesion pull-off tests after sanding; ensure the substrate is dry and free of oil or grease.
Liner and Testing: Polyurea liners offer seamless corrosion resistance but require rigorous sandblasting and strict control of temperature and humidity. Conduct a full-water test with a minimum 72-hour holding period; use high-voltage spark testing (approx. 3000V/mm) to detect pinholes, paying special attention to pipe penetrations and internal corners; simultaneously verify the overall seal integrity between the insulation layer and the liner.
Testing
Water‑fill test – Fill the pool and let it stand for at least 72 hours. Monitor water level drop, external leakage, and sidewall deformation. Spark testing (holiday detection) at approximately 3000 V per mm of coating thickness can reveal pinholes in the lining, especially at pipe penetrations and inside corners.
